2021 Tour...The Craziness? 2021 ended on a high note!

Well WE Did something crazy!!! We sold our Sunriver home in November 2021! a lovely couple from California toured our home while we were in Boca Raton. Beck was visiting a client for training and I was goofing off around town…we were both headed to our first Rock Boat cruise casting off and out of Miami. Little did we know that our house was going to sell in such a short period of time that it would make many peoples head spin…were we ready? We ended up signing a sales agreement from the hotel room on November 7th, the morning of the day we set sail!

Beck and I had SO much fun that we booked the following cruise for 1/23 and are taking Rob! https://www.jambase.com/festival/the-rock-boat-xxi-2021, Lots of great indie artists new and old…lots of cool people and just an overall great experience. Crazy story is that due to COVID there were people that didn’t choose to go on the cruise for various reasons so we were able to go…normally this cruise has a huge waiting list so we feel fortunate that we were able to jump through the right hoops to board for the 21st sailing!

November 13th…From our cruise ship to see friends in Blacksburg VA for a few days, that just remodeled an 8 room Victorian mansion from the 19th century, into a Bed and Breakfast!

Returned November 16 to Sunriver to get the house ready to move out by 12/3…Special thanks to friends and family. Especially my childhood friend Marty (now just moved to LaPine from our old Walnut Creek neighborhood) .

December 3rd

We were on the road with ZIPPE and our two cars packed with stuff to Palm Desert for “the winter”. Knowing I had to be back in Central Oregon for my 81 shows beginning May and going til my last show on October 22nd. This day would revelle a few things as I drove south. 

1. We spent a majority of our lives spent here making many fond memories.

2. We raised our two beautiful kids here with the knowledge going into it was going to allow us to spend quality time with Rob and Rachel in a nurturing and nature filled experience.

3. I will miss friends we made over the years

I look back at the amount of stuff /old stuff/stuff we couldnt fit into storage (we had 3 of them by this time) we got rid of from a home we built and lived in for 23 years and amazed we were able to do it so quickly! December 4th 2021 Winter rental at Rancho Las Palmas The last few years (pre and during COVID) we went to Palm Desert and stayed in a few places we really liked in Rancho Las Palmas and and liked staying in Monterey Country Club during Central Oregon winters and now we needed a place to “Live”, Since our usual rental in Monterey Country Club wasn't available this year this was “home” for the winter...until May 1st. Rob chose to move suth too!

December 24th: For the Christmas holidays Rob, Beck and I traveled to L.A. to meet and celebrate Christmas with Mom and Pete but we started in Hollywood to walk the walk of fame and to head over to Universal Studios the next morning. We needed to have a drink at the hotel pool that Marylin Monroe lived in and had taken promotional pictures which became one of her first promotional shots to rocket her into stardom in the 1940’s.

We walked around the rainy cold Hollywood blvd and decided we needed a coffee to warm up…There was a Capital one cafe… yes…a bank that was open at night that you could get a coffee and snack at  a great price if you had a capital one credit card…what a coincidence that we all had one…and awesome COFFEE! Oh by the way, you can sign up to win tickets to the Rose Bowl! A few days later to our surprise we got a call...Beck won 2 tickets and I did too! What a surprise phone call that was!

December 27th Went back to Palm Desert and Dave DJ'd a New Years Eve pool party at a cool house up in Big Horn community in Rancho Mirage to ring in 2022! Our Sunriver house closed escrow 12.17.2021! Dave will continue running www.starproductionsdjs.com in Central Oregon and add Palm Desert Southern California to his market as well into 2022!

All in all it was a great end to the year, albeit the busiest 60 days of our lives! Where will 2022 take us?
